PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform recording which suppresses landing position deviation of an ink droplet even when discharge failure of ink occurs and complementary recording is performed.SOLUTION: When discharge failure occurs in a plurality of discharge ports of which positions in an arrangement direction of the discharge ports are the same, a complement nozzle is selected so that a distance between the discharge ports on both ends in an intersection direction intersecting the arrangement direction becomes shortest.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
