<p>User equipment (UE) determines 402 from a reconfiguration message a next state, e.g. radio resource control (RRC) state, to which the UE should configure and then detects 404 a radio link failure (RLF) or radio link control (RLC) unrecoverable error while reconfiguring to the new configuration given by the reconfiguration message. In response to detecting the RLF or RLC unrecoverable error, the UE initiates 406 an update procedure, e.g. Cell Update procedure, and sets 408 a flag value in dependence on what is the next state indicated by the reconfiguration message, the flag value indicating whether or not the UE has already applied or will apply the new configuration. As part of the update procedure, the UE compiles 410 an uplink message indicating the flag value, e.g. the flag value may be indicated by the presence or absence of a Reconfiguration Status Indicator information element in a Cell Update message.</p> |
