PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress distortion of output signals due to phase discontinuity of signals to be amplified.SOLUTION: The amplification device comprises a signal separating portion, a plurality of amplifiers, a synthesizing portion, a selecting portion and a switching control portion. The signal separating portion separates an input signal to generate a plurality of signals whose phase differences vary in response to an absolute value of amplitude of the input signal. The plurality of amplifiers amplify the plurality of signals respectively. The synthesizing portion synthesizes output of the plurality of amplifiers to generate an output signal. The selecting portion selects either one of the output signal whose phase is inverted and the output signal whose phase is not inverted and then outputs the either one. The switching control portion switches the output signals to be selected by the selecting portion in response to timing at which the absolute value of the amplitude of the input signal is minimum or timing at which a predetermined time elapses from the timing, while preventing the phases of the plurality of signals from being inverted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
