#CMT# #/CMT# Use of tetramic acid derivatives (I) or (II) for controlling insect-transmitted viruses, is claimed. #CMT# : #/CMT# Use of tetramic acid derivatives of formula (I) or (II) for controlling insect-transmitted viruses, is claimed. An independent claim is included for the use of an active agent combination comprising (I) or (II) and at least an agonist and/or antagonist of acetylcholine receptor for controlling the insect-transmitted viruses. #CMT#[Image]#/CMT# #CMT#ACTIVITY : #/CMT# Virucide. #CMT#MECHANISM OF ACTION : #/CMT# Acetylcholine receptor agonist; Acetylcholine receptor antagonist. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The active agent combination: is useful for controlling insect-transmitted viruses in vegetables (preferred), soya, cotton, turnip, maize, rice, potato, tobacco, cereals, tropical fruits or ornamental plants; and for controlling the viruses transmitted by whitefly (all claimed), cicada, thrips, spider mites and greenfly. The active agent combination is useful for controlling insect-transmitted viruses in vegetables e.g. tomatoes and beans, in cereals e.g. wheat, barley, rye and oats, in fruits e.g. blackberries and blueberries, in ornamental plants e.g. lilies and daffodils. The ability of the active agent combination (imidacloprid and (II)) to control the viruses transmitted by Bemisia argentifolii (whitefly) in tomatoes was tested. The results showed that the active agent combination controlled 90% of viruses transmitted by whitefly. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The active agent combination exhibits synergistic effect to control the viruses transmitted by insects, good plant compatibility and less toxicity to warm blooded animals. #CMT#PHARMACEUTICALS : #/CMT# Preferred Components: The active agent combination comprises at least imidacloprid, acetamiprid, thiamethoxam, nitenpyram, thiacloprid, dinotefuran, clothianidin or imidaclothiz. |
