The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for generating a journal that can realize the automatic generation of a journal based on data from various sources. The method comprises the step of: obtaining a source data set and a journal description data set corresponding to the source data set; obtaining an alignment probability set by calculating an alignment probability between each source data sequence in the source data set and each journal description data sequence in the journal description data set; obtaining an occurrence probability set by calculating a probability that each journal description data sequence will appear in the journal description data set; selecting a target journal description data sequence corresponding to a source data sequence to be translated, which is one among the source data sequences, from each journal description data sequence according to the alignment probability set and the occurrence probability set; and translating the target journal description data sequence into a journal description text.
