Disclosed is a light buoy. The light buoy includes a floating body floating on a water surface; a generation device including a generator having a drive shaft and a gear coupled to the drive shaft, and installed on the upper surface portion of the floating body parallel to the water surface; a first small floating body and a second small floating body installed on the side surface portion of the floating body to be lifted and lowered in the direction perpendicular to the water surface; a wire having a portion passing through the side surface portion and the upper surface portion of the floating body in a direction perpendicular to the drive shaft to be interlocked with the gear to have both ends respectively fixed to the first small floating body and the second small floating body; and a display light closely installed to the floating body to be connected to the generation device, and using the power generated by the generator to emit light, wherein grooves having a width able to be engaged with teeth of the gear are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the wire, the first small floating body and the second small floating body are repeatedly lifted and lowered in a direction perpendicular to the water surface by waves, and the wire reciprocates between the first small floating body and the second small floating body in a direction perpendicular to the drive shaft to rotate the gear and the drive shaft.
