A non-aqueous electrolyte battery includes a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material layer provided on a positive electrode collector, a negative electrode and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein the positive electrode active material layer contains a polyvinylidene fluoride-containing binder and a nano ceramic particle having a primary particle size of not more than 100 nm; and the binder and the nano ceramic particle are complexed.

1. A non-aqueous electrolyte battery comprising:
a positive electrode having a positive electrode active material layer provided on the positive electrode collector; a negative electrode; and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein the positive electrode active material layer contains therewithin a polyvinylidene fluoride-containing binder and nano ceramic particles having a primary particle size of not more than 100 nm, the nano ceramic particles are dispersed in the binder so as to form a complex within the positive electrode active material layer, and the positive electrode active material layer is substantially free of non-complexed nano ceramic particles.
