摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder for wiping a discharge outlet surface of a recording head with a sheet-like member and for satisfying the necessity for reducing the used amount of the sheet-like member while performing a wiping operation to keep the discharge outlet surface satisfactory.SOLUTION: A contamination state of a wiping area after a wiping action is determined so that the timing for winding a sheet-like member is controlled in a wiping unit in accordance with the decision result of the contamination state.
