PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exert a sufficient function as a fail-safe mechanism and to reduce costs of a product.SOLUTION: A constant velocity universal joint includes an outer joint member 11, and an inner joint member 12 transmitting torque while permitting angular displacement through a ball 13 with respect to the outer joint member 11, and further includes a torque transmittable concave/convex fitting portion 23 which is configured by forming concave portions 22 by press-fitting a shaft 19 having a plurality of convex portions 20 extended in an axial direction on an outer peripheral face, to a shaft hole 21 of the inner joint member 12, and transferring the shape of the convex portions 20 to an inner peripheral face of the shaft hole 21, and with which the entire region M of fitting contact portion of the convex portions 20 and the concave portions 22 is closely kept into contact. A flange portion 27 for aligning the shaft 19 to the shaft hole 21 of the inner joint member 12 in press-fitting the shaft 19, is disposed on a tip of the shaft 19, a step portion 28 having an inner diameter smaller than an inner peripheral face of the shaft hole 21 is formed on an inner peripheral face of an end portion of the shaft hole 21, and the flange portion 27 is press-fitted to the step portion 28 to be locked by an end face 29 of the inner joint member 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
