PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the transfer of data to a network by recovery with the data transferred from an image forming apparatus even when an image processing controller is in a power saving state, and to achieve power saving without damaging convenience by efficiently shifting to a power saving state when the data transfer ends.SOLUTION: In an image processing controller 102, a network I/F 204 connected to a network and a network I/F 205 connected to an image forming apparatus respectively shift a power state of the image processing controller 102 on respective conditions. The network I/F 205 recovers a standby state from a power-saving state (S703) in the case of receiving a packet to be a factor for transferring data transmitted from the image forming apparatus to the network through the network I/F 204 in the power saving mode (S702), and shifts to the power saving mode (S705 to S711→3fS701) when data transfer ends without shifting to the power saving mode until the data transfer ends.
