PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the durability of a spark plug while avoiding the shortage of electric power energy required for ignition with spark discharge.SOLUTION: An ignition device includes a first control part for carrying a primary current to a primary coil and then interrupting the primary current, to generate in a secondary coil a high voltage to be supplied to the spark plug, and a second control part for carrying to the primary coil the primary current after interrupted by the first control part, to interrupt the secondary coil electric power energy to be supplied to the spark plug. It further includes a re-carried current measuring part for measuring the re-carried current which is carried to the primary coil by the second control part, and a current-carrying time determining part for determining a current-carrying time when the primary current is carried to the primary coil by the first control part, depending on the re-carried current measured by the re-carried current measuring part. |
