PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection apparatus and a detection method for detecting a position of an object with improved accuracy with a simpler configuration.SOLUTION: The detection apparatus includes: a touch panel comprising a first electrode part extending in a first direction and a second electrode part arranged in a second direction crossing the first direction; pulse generation means which outputs a pulse signal to the first electrode part; and detection means which performs, in a time-sharing manner, first detection which detects a touch position on the touch panel on the basis of capacitance change between the first electrode part and the second electrode part and a voltage signal generated in the second electrode part according to the pulse signal, and second detection which detects a position of a pen on the basis of voltage signals generated in the first and second electrode parts according to a distance between the pen which generates a driving signal of a predetermined frequency and the touch panel. |
