<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bookbinding device and a bookbinding method capable of providing a booklet that can satisfy different requests of readers in terms of a page turning characteristic.SOLUTION: A bookbinding device of this invention creates a booklet by cutting an edge of a sheet P in which an image is formed by an image formation device. It comprises: a cutter 50 for cutting the edge of the sheet P; a position adjustment part 72, 80 for adjusting a relative position of the cutter 50 and the sheet P in order to obliquely cut the edge of the sheep P at a small port side of the booklet within a plane of the sheet P by the cutter 50; a control unit for adjusting the relative position of the cutter 50 and the sheet P in every sheet while controlling the position adjustment part 72, 80 so as to increase or decrease an inclination angle of the edge to be cut by the cutter 50 as the number of pages of the booklet progresses, and for performing a cutting process of the sheet P.</p> |
