The device (10) has a cutting unit fastened at a housing pot (11), and a hand-actuatable fixing- and drive apparatus for a cutting material arranged above the cutting unit. A lid (12) i.e. insertion lid, is articulately arranged on the housing pot. The fixing- and drive apparatus is mounted on the lid. The lid is provided with a handle-like extension (15) arranged at circumference of the lid. A handle (14) of the lid is plunged into a half-shelled centring device arranged at the housing pot in a closure/operating mode. The centring device is arranged at the housing pot.
