<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The flanks of the sheet are folded using a number of roll forming units which are individually movable in the sideways direction and rotatable. A pair of rolls (82-85) is then used to roll the flanks thinner towards one side in order to bend the profile. A single computer program controls the sideways and angular movement of the roll forming units and roll pairs so that the latter follow the flanks and a line between the roll pair axles is always kept at right angles to the flanks being rolled. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a production line for continuously forming profiles with a cross-section profile varying in the length direction from sheet metal being unwound from a roll, comprising a reel; a sheet orienting device; a punch for cutting the sheet in the cross-direction; an edge cutting device; a roll forming line with a number of roll forming stations, which like the edge cutting device are individually movable in the sideways direction; and a bending device (25) with rolls for rolling the profile flanks flat in order to bend the profile, these rolls being mounted on axles with a line in between them which is always kept at right angles to the flanks being rolled. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# For bending and roll forming a sheet metal profile having a profiling which varies over its length. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# Highly accurate bending and small internal tensions are obtained. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The figure shows a cross-section of a bending unit. 25 : bending unit 50 : profile 82-85 : roll pairs.</p> |
