PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter medium with a low pressure loss, a large capacity for dust collection, a high rigidity, and a high pleating property, and to provide its manufacturing method and an air filter.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for an air filter medium is characterized by comprising the following (I)-(III) continuous processes. The process (I) is that: a fiber web consisting of PE single short fibers or PP/PE core-sheath type short fibers is spun out with a short-fiber carding machine, and then one face or both faces of a polyolefin-made net is overlaid with the fiber web to form a composite laminated sheet of the fiber web and the net. The process (II) is that: the short fibers of the fiber web are housed in a net grid by introducing the composite laminated sheet into a heating furnace, and by making hot blast pass through the composite laminated sheet so as to be orthogonal to the composite laminated sheet, and intersections of fibers are fused to form a nonwoven fabric in the net grid. The process (III) is that: the composite laminated sheet is introduced into a pressure roll, and the nonwoven fabric in the net grid is not crimped, but the net and the fiber web on the net are crimped for integration. |
