PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent suitable for solid phase extraction excellent in selectivity for water-soluble molecules.SOLUTION: The adsorbent includes a structure expressed by formula I. In the formula, R is a carrier component and the part other than R is a side chain functional group. R and the benzene ring of the side chain functional group are connected directly to each other or through one or more atoms. R' is selected from the group consisting of a hydroxy group, an alkoxy group, an amino group, an alkyl amino group, a thiol group, and an alkyl sulfide group. R''s are each independently selected from the group consisting of a hydroxy group, an alkoxy group, an alkyl group, an amino group, an alkyl amino group, a dialkyl amino group, a trialkyl amino group, a thiol group, an alkyl sulfide group, and a hydrogen atom, x being an integer of 0 or more and 3 or less, n being the number of side chain functional groups contained in the carrier component. |
