<p>PURPOSE: A display device and a method for operating the same are provided to determine the number of channels to change or volume through moving speed of a remote control unit by a user, thereby conveniently controlling the channel and volume. CONSTITUTION: A control signal receiver(480) receives a signal transmitted from a remote control unit. A controller(490) reads information about channel change or volume change. An image signal processor(440) displays a selected broadcasting program on a display unit(450). If a channel change signal is received, images of a channel which will change are successively shown.</p> |
