PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing cup capable of reducing friction between the inner peripheral face of the bearing cup and each rolling element (particularly, when a negative clearance load is applied thereto), and to provide a cross shaft joint.SOLUTION: A bearing cup 24 includes: a cylindrical part 48; and a bottom part 49. The cylindrical part 48 is shaped cylindrical which is externally fitted to a shaft part 46 in fitting holes 31, 42 of a joint yoke 20 of a cross shaft joint 6 to hold rolling elements 53 between the shaft part 46 and itself. The cylindrical part 48 has one end in an axial direction X where an opening part 50 is formed to receive the shaft part 46, and the other end in the axial direction X which is blocked by the bottom part 49. In the bearing cup 24 in a free state before pressed into the fitting holes 31, 42, a diameter R of an inner peripheral face 48A of the cylindrical part 48 is smaller at the side of the opening part 50 than at the side of the bottom part 49. |
