<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier device capable of detecting the presence or absence of a recording medium and an opening/closing state of an opening/closing guide member without increasing a device cost and the number of components for the device, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An opening/closing guide member 54 for guiding conveyance of a recording medium passing through a conveyance path is formed to be capable of opening the conveyance path in a closed state. A second photosensor 59 (detection sensor) functioning as a sensor for detecting the presence or absence of the recording medium also functions as a sensor for detecting an opening/closing state of the opening/closing guide member 54.</p> |
