PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform shut down by means of software of a microcomputer and to detect failure of a RAM.SOLUTION: A microcomputer of a control device 21 for controlling operation of a power converter 14 executes switching processing for controlling switching operation in the power converter, RAM failure inspection processing for performing fault diagnosis on a RAM to be used, at predetermined intervals, and various processing, such as shut-down processing for forcibly stop the switching operation in the power converter 14. The shut-down processing is interrupt processing which is executed as the highest priority when an input failure signal Sb or a drive voltage drop signal Se is given. In the RAM failure inspection processing, fault diagnosis is performed on a portion excluding a RAM area to be used in the shut-down processing from the whole of the RAM area. The shut-down processing includes processing for performing fault diagnosis on the RAM area to be used in the shut-down processing.
