PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing unit improved in reliability, by suppressing that a corner of a medium projects out to the outside of a carrying path and broken and the occurrence of jamming. ! SOLUTION: A printing unit 1 makes a printing portion 4 print on a passbook while carrying the passbook in one direction along a carrying path by a carrying portion 3. The printing unit 1 carries the passbook in the other direction along the carrying path by the carrying portion 3 after printing on the passbook by the printing portion 4. The printing unit 1 decides a stop position of a print head in a main scanning direction according to an inclining direction of the passbook in the carrying path, when carrying the passbook in the other direction along the carrying path by the carrying portion 3. !
