PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal member easy to assemble and replace, and to provide a rolling bearing for a windmill main shaft. ! SOLUTION: A seal member 16 includes a plurality of seal segments 20 mounted on one of an inner ring 11 and an outer ring 12 and split in a peripheral direction. The seal segments 20 each have a man lip 22 and a sub lip 23 which are provided side by side in an axial direction for slide contacting the other of the inner ring 11 and the outer ring 12. The adjacent segments 20 are connected to each other with no space in such a manner that a protruded part 24 provided at the end of one and a recessed part 25 provided at the end of the other are fitted to each other. In the state that the protruded part 24 and the recessed part 25 are fitted to each other, a joint between the end faces of the main lips 22 of the adjacent seal segments 20 and a joint between the end faces of the sub lips 23 are arranged at mutually different peripheral positions. !
