A method is devoted to the control of the use of the combustion engine (MT) and auxiliary motor (MA) of a hybrid vehicle (V) having a speed control system (SC) with programmable speed setpoint. This method involves determining i) a comfortable torque needed for comfortable acceleration of the vehicle (V) according to the current speed of the vehicle (V), to the programmed speed setpoint and to resistive forces experienced by the vehicle (V), then ii) first and second setpoint torques for the combustion engine (MT) and auxiliary motor (MA) respectively, dependent on the determined comfortable torque, on the maximum and optimum torques provided by the combustion engine (MT), on a maximum torque provided by the auxiliary motor (MA) and on a setpoint torque demanded by the system (SC) so as to cause the current speed of the vehicle (V) to converge upon the programmed speed setpoint. |
