The system (1) has an association rod (2) comprising a notch (3) and a longitudinal vertical median plane. A receiving device (5) receives the rod in a sliding movement and comprises a sliding motion sleeve (6). A drawer (7) is induced in translation towards the sleeve by an elastic returning unit (8). The drawer is provided with a detent edge (9) that engages in the notch under effect of the elastic returning unit when the drawer and the notch face each other to block the rod in the sliding movement. A straight line part intersects a plane behind the rod. An independent claim is also included for a component for a vehicle seat.
