#CMT# #/CMT# The terminal has a sleeve formed by overmolding an electrically insulated material on a core. The sleeve entirely encloses a female fixation unit and electrically conductive connection elements such as conductive washer (9) and spacer (10), except a transversal end face at a socket terminal of a rotary electric machine and an attachment at a female metal lug attached at an end of an electric cable. The unit has two inserts (8) formed from an insulating material having high thermal and mechanical characteristics. The inserts are introduced in an orifice (6) at respective faces of a ring (5). #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a connection terminal. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Terminal for electrically insulated connection of an electric battery cable with a rotary electric machine e.g. alternator or alternator-starter, of a motor vehicle i.e. car. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The inserts are formed from the insulating material having high thermal and mechanical characteristics, so as to guarantee excellent thermal and mechanical stability and maintenance of the connection terminal over time, and to guarantee constant and repeatable fixation of the connection terminal on the heat sink of the machine so as to limit any accidental risk of contact of the heat sink with an adjacent element in the vehicle and to avoid loosening of the connection terminal under the effect of thermal variation induced by operation of the vehicle. The connection terminal is compatible with requirements of wide range car application. The configuration of the connection terminal assures better adhesion of the overmolding material of the sleeve so as to assure better cohesion of the connection terminal assembly. The configuration of the connection terminal permits easy access for assembling the connection terminal with the electric cable and for any later intervention in the connection terminal, and enables assuring perfectly insulated and stable connection between the electric battery cable and the rotary electric machine of the vehicle.
