The present invention relates to a Cleyera japonica extract or hydrolysable tannin isolated therefrom and a composition including the same for treating prostate diseases. More specifically, the present invention relates to a compound represented by chemical formula 1 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a composition including the same as an active ingredient for treating prostate diseases.
