The computer program product includes receiving a request for an order for goods or services from a first company in one of the plurality of local networks in the federated value chain network, searching for one or more second companies having matching goods or services over one or more of the plurality of local networks, sourcing the matched one or more second companies, creating a transaction over one or more segments to effect the movement of the good or services, involving one or more third companies, from a source location to a destination location, and managing the handoffs between the relevant first, second and third companies in order to ship the goods or services.
