<p>A method of correcting low frequency data of particle motion sensors 29 using pressure sensor data comprises towing two streamers at different depths, the upper streamer 20A comprising particle motion sensors (geophones) 29 and pressure sensors (hydrophones) 22 and the lower streamer 20B comprising hydrophones 22. The vertical velocity component of the low frequency waves at the upper streamer 20A are estimated based on the lower streamers 20B hydrophone data, the low frequency range of the geophone data is then modified based on the velocity estimates. This modified particle motion data may then be used to separate the up-going and down-going wave fields to enable surface reflections or ghosting to be filtered from the geophysical data. The lower streamer 20B may also include electromagnetic sensors.</p> |
