Arrangement of a glove box assembly on a cockpit cross member of a passenger vehicle

An arrangement 10 of a glove box assembly 12 on a cockpit cross member 14 of a passenger vehicle, which is arranged below the cockpit cross member 14 and mounted on it. The glove box assembly 12 is supported on the cockpit cross member 14 by a deformation element 22 having a deformable or collapsible box or honeycomb structure 24 capable of absorbing energy by deformation in case of an impact of a knee (28) of a passenger on the glove box assembly 12. The arrangement is characterised by a longitudinal extension connecting the honeycomb structure 24 to the cockpit cross member 14, and a stiffening structure 30 which is stiffer than the honeycomb structure 24 and made up of hollow chambers 34. The arrangement is preferably made of aluminium.
