<p>A catenary front-end gear for towing streamers under water, the catenary front-end gear comprising: a main cable configured to span between a first vessel 252 and a device 254; a connecting system configured to connect plural streamers 258 to the main cable 256; and the plural streamers, wherein the main cable takes a substantially catenary shape when towed by the first vessel underwater, wherin the connecting system further comprises: an actuator 264 connected to the main cable; a link 262 connected to the actuator; a bird 260 connected to the link, wherein the bird is configured to laterally and/or vertically change its position; and a streamer connected to the bird, wherein the actuator is configured to adjust a longitudinal position of a head of the streamer relative to the first vessel. The device can be a deflector or a second vessel. Also disclosed is a hybrid front-end gear.</p> |
