325,805. Sheppard, S. R. Aug. 23, 1928. Motor-vehicle head lamps; lantern screens.-An antidazzle device comprises an opaque reflector 8 symmetrically disposed about the axis of the lamp intermediate the light source 6 and the lamp front. The reflector 8 may be supported by radial spring arms 13 carried by a ring or collar 14 surounding the lamp socket 7 and retained in position by the lamp when it is inserted in the holder 3. Hook extremities 15 on the arms 13 engage a bead 16 formed on the edge of the reflector. The lamp has a main parabolic or hyperbolic reflector 2. The reflector 8 may have three or more radial arms attached to the bead 16 adapted to engage the reflactor 2 and retain the reflector 8 in place by friction. In a further modification the reflector 8 is attached to a sleeve screwed on to a rod or tube passing through a central aperture in the glass front and secured by nuts, so that the reflector can be adjusted axially. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 4260/08, 26888/09, and 142,812.
|
