<p>The panel has a groove profile (6) and a tongue profile (8) at respective sides of the panel. The groove profile includes a long groove side wall (18) with a larger thickness at its free end. A locking unit includes locking surfaces (28a, 28b) on groove profile and tongue profile, respectively, where the locking surfaces are arranged between surfaces (10, 12) of the panels in the region of the free end of the long groove side wall.
