The invention relates to a method for separating a liquefiable gas mixture consisting of a plurality of components, comprising at least a first component (K1) and a second component (K2) wherein, under an elevated pressure p1, the first component (K1) has a melting point T * K1 that is higher than the melting point T* K2 of the second component (K2). In order to realize the most compact structure possible, the method according to the invention comprises the following steps: - converting the gas mixture into a liquid state at a temperature T0 and a pressure p0, where T* K2 < T0 ≤ T* K1 and p0 < p1, and the first component (K1) is present in a starting concentration (C0); - and producing a pressure gradient in the liquefied gas mixture, wherein the elevated pressure p1 prevails at least in a limited spatial region (3) of the liquefied gas mixture, and the first component (K1) freezes out. |
