A method for determining and displaying changes in regions of interest (ROI) in medical images includes: capturing successive images of the regions of interest at different points in time, comparing the captured images, and presenting to a user a visual indication of changes in the regions of interest between the different points in time. An image representing the determined changes is also claimed. Regions of interest, edges of organs and types/locations of tissue may be determined by segmentation techniques. The comparison result may be represented as an enhanced colour-coded visualisation image to improve user interpretation of the determined changes. Color coding may be applied to comparison results for a particular ROI, organ, tissue-type etc. The enhanced visualization image is displayed upon a screen and facilitates user determination of tissue changes over time, such as changes in lesions, tumors, cancerous growths etc. |
