Connection system for crane boom segments

A crane boom segment (53, 54) comprises at least three cords (61, 63) with a connector (70, 80) at each end. Half the connectors (70) are a first type and half are a second type (80). Both types have extensions (71-73a, b and 81-82a, b) and a stop surface (78,88). The extensions each have an aperture for receiving main pin. The extensions and apertures align when two boom segitients are, aligned end-to-end so that a main pin may be inserted through the apertures to secure the boom segments together. The stop surfaces (78, 88) co-operate to align the apertures in the extensions of the respective connectors when the stop surfaces contact one another.
