<p>A method of forming a fiber optic cable for use in a hostile environment is disclosed, in which the cable includes a fiber in metal core. The fiber in metal core includes one or more optical fibers that are disposed inwardly from an inner axial tube. A conductive layer comprising a wickable conductor is formed outwardly from the inner axial tube. The conductive layer is passed through a molten bath of material capable of reducing hydrogen permeation.</p> |
