<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves detecting a stepper position (Xist) of a stepper, and specifying speed (nv) of a winding device based on the detected stepper position. Control parameters (KP, TN) are automatically determined in dependence of a diameter of the winding device during operation of a processing machine. Speed of the winding device is specified for winding or unwinding a material web e.g. paper or card board.
