In a distance measuring device, a drive control unit (103) generates a light emission timing signal (SG1) and a light exposure timing signal (SG2) according to measurement conditions. A light source (104) emits light according to the light emission timing signal (SG1). A solid state imaging element (109) comprises a pixel group that is arranged in a matrix configuration and is divided into a plurality of regions in units of lines, and selectively exposes each region to light according to the light exposure timing signal (SG2). An image signal processing unit (101) calculates the signal output from the solid state imaging element (109) to obtain distance information. The drive control unit (103) applies differing measurement conditions to each region of the solid state imaging element (109). |
