<p>A multi-modal multi-modulation small cell base station such as a picocell is disclosed. The small cell can perform operations to form a self-organizing network. Portions of the small cell, for example, in a processor module, that provide function for SONs may be referred to as a SON module. The SON module may provide a configurable set of algorithmic optimizer components to tune various aspects of network performance. The SON module may provide functions such as a tracking area optimizer, a random access channel (RACH) optimizer, a mobility optimizer, a load balancer, and an inter-cell interference coordinator (ICIC).</p> |
