To easily link a multi-start coil to another tubular body. A method for manufacturing a medical device comprises a step of forming a long flexible tubular main body which is inserted into a body cavity. The step of forming the tubular main body includes the following steps: a step of preparing a first tubular body (multi-start coil (310)) constituted by multiple wires (311) being spirally wound into juxtaposition wherein the multiple wires (311) are aligned in a winding axis direction; a step of partially melting each of two or more adjacent wires (311) to weld the two or more adjacent wires (311) to each other in a first welding part (312) which extends in a cross direction relative to a circumferential direction of the first tubular body; a step of partially melting each of multiple wires (311) to weld the multiple wires (311) to each other in a ring-shaped second welding part (313) that surrounds the first tubular body; and a step of attaching one end of a second tubular body to the second welding part (313) such that the second tubular body is linked to the first tubular body.
