A portable terminal device is provided with: a display unit which lights up and displays information; a touch detection unit which has a touch panel provided on the display unit and detects a user touch operation on the touch panel; and a control unit which controls the display unit and the touch detection unit. The control unit extinguishes the display unit that is lighting up if an object approaches the display unit when an application program accompanied by information display is being executed, disables the touch operation after the extinction when the application program corresponds to a first application program, and enables the touch operation after the extinction when the application program corresponds to a second application program. |
