TREHALOSE AND DEXTRAN-CONTAINING SOLUTION FOR TRANSPLANTING MAMMALIAN CELLS

The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method for storing mammalian cells over a long period of time with the use of a solution for cell transplantation by which cell death can be effectively suppressed during the storage of the mammalian cells, and the solution for cell transplantation. The present invention is characterized in that mammalian cells are stored in a physiological aqueous solution for cell transplantation, said solution containing 2.0-6.0 (w/v)% of trehalose, a derivative thereof or a salt of the same (trehalose compound) and 4.0-7.0 (w/v)% of dextran, a derivative thereof or a salt of the same (dextran compound). Owing to the effects of the trehalose compound and dextran compound contained in the physiological aqueous solution for cell transplantation, a lowering in the survival rate of the mammalian cells can be suppressed in the case of storing the mammalian cells over a long period of time (at least 14 days). The physiological aqueous solution is preferably selected from the group consisting of lactate Ringer solution, physiological saline, Ringer solution and acetate Ringer solution. Particularly preferable examples thereof include lactate Ringer solution and physiological saline.
