A holder (14) is provided for holding an electrical component (12) on a circuit board (16) having a lead hole (24). The holder includes a body (46) having a base (48) for holding the electrical component and a connection member (50) for mounting the body to the circuit board. The base includes a lead opening (56) that is configured to hold a solder lead (22) of the electrical component therein. The connection member extends from the base and is configured to mechanically connect to the circuit board such that the base holds an end (90) of the solder lead of the electrical component within the lead hole of the circuit board.
