The present invention relates to a method for pretreating an electrode for a redox flow battery or a fuel cell. More particularly, the method for pretreating an electrode for a redox flow battery or a fuel cell comprises the steps of (a) making an electrode substrate contact with an inducer for generating functional groups or an acidic material; and (b) activating the surface of the electrode substrate by exposing the electrode substrate, which contacts with the inducer for generating functional groups or the acidic material in step (a), to a high-temperature environment. According to the present invention, price competitiveness can be ensured as the energy efficiency of the redox flow battery or the fuel cell can be increased greatly, process time can be reduced by 90% or lower and costs can be reduced by approximately 80% compared with that of an existing high-temperature heat treatment and chemical pretreatment method. |
