The invention relates to a medical bone screw, especially of the pedicle screw type, comprising a plain and threaded shank which has a distal shank portion of a preferably smaller core diameter that transitions into a proximal shank portion of a preferably larger core diameter, a screw head being formed at the proximal end of the screw. The core cross-section is out-of-round preferably polygonal along the distal shank portion and the core cross-section is round along the proximal shank portion. |
