Disclosed is a remote control method of a multi-mode remote controller, comprising the following steps of: determining a current control mode, the remote controller comprising various control modes; obtaining a touch control signal of a user on a touch screen; and analyzing the touch control signal, generating a remote control instruction corresponding to the touch control signal under the current control mode, and sending the instruction to a user terminal, so that the user terminal operates currently displayed content. The present invention further provides a multi-mode remote controller, a user terminal and a system. The present invention can realize seamless automatic switching among multiple control modes in the remote controller with a touch screen, so as to meet different interaction requirements of various users.
