Provided are a display device and a light-source device not provided with any separate components, but being of simplified construction. Manufacturing costs are minimized, and a fixed gap is kept between a light source and a light-guide plate even when the light-guide plate undergoes thermal expansion. A light-source device provided with a light-guide plate (40) allowing light incident on one side surface to be emitted from one surface, a light source (51) disposed close to the one side surface of the light-guide plate (40), and a rear housing body (70) for housing the light-guide plate (40) and the light source (51), wherein a heat spreader (60) for holding the light-guide plate (40) and the light source (51) and for transmitting heat emitted by the light source (51) to the bottom surface (71) of the housing body (70) is configured to be capable of sliding on the bottom surface (71) of the rear housing body (70), whereby the light source (51), additionally held by the heat spreader (60), slides according to the expansion and contraction of the light-guide plate (40). |
