The present invention addresses the problem of providing a new means for inducing, in a host, efficient secretory production of a target protein. The present invention relates to: a novel polypeptide exhibiting activity with which secretion productivity of a target protein is improved; a gene including a base sequence encoding said polypeptide; a vector including said gene; a transformant obtained by using said vector to transform a host cell; and a protein production method including a step in which said transformant is cultured, and the target protein is recovered from a culture product.
