An evaluation method for determining a skin function evaluation value from an image, wherein an image comprising a subject's skin is acquired, skin regions are extracted from the image, at least two characteristic indices representing features in the skin regions in the image are calculated, and a skin function evaluation value is determined on the basis of the at least two characteristic indices calculated.
